How do I download MT5 and connect my T1 account?
We offer Trading.com MT5 as a web-based platform, which you can launch here, and as a download for both PC and Mac users. The steps to download, install, and connect the platform to your T1 account can be found below.
For PC
- Step 1: Download the MetaTrader 5 terminal from here
- Step 2: Run the Trading.exe file you've downloaded
- Step 3: When launching the platform for the first time, click on 'File' and select 'Open Account'
- Step 4: Enter 'Trading.com Markets Inc.' and click 'Find your company' 1
- Step 5: Click 'Next' and select 'Connect with an existing trading account'
- Step 6: Enter your account login credentials 2
- Step 7: Select the server on which your account is registered and click 'Finish'
For MAC
- Step 1: Download the MetaTrader 5 terminal from here
- Step 2: Run the MetaTrader5.dmg file you've downloaded
- Step 3: After launching the platform, right-click on 'Accounts' and select 'Open Account'
- Step 4: Enter 'Trading.com Markets Inc.' and click 'Find your company' 1
- Step 5: Click 'Next' and select 'Connect with an existing trading account'
- Step 6: Enter your account login credentials 2
- Step 7: Select the server on which your account is registered and click 'Finish'
1 When completing the search field, make sure you enter 'Trading.com Markets Inc.' exactly as it appears here. Entering simply 'Trading.com' may result in you finding servers unrelated to the US market.
2 You can find your login ID by going to our webtrader, clicking 'My Accounts' and selecting 'Manage Accounts'. From there, click the arrow next to the account you wish to connect to see your login ID.

PC OS: Microsoft Windows 7 or higher. 64-bit Windows 10 strongly recommended.
MAC OS: Fully compatible with all macOS up to and including Big Sur.
Processor: SSE2 support suitable for all modern CPUs (Pentium 4/Athlon 64 or higher).
Other hardware requirements depend on how you use the platform (e.g. load from running MQL5 applications, number of active instruments and charts).
How do I uninstall the Trading.com MT5 platform?
Windows 7
- Step 1: Click Start, and then click Control Panel
- Step 2: Under Programs, click Uninstall a program
- Step 3: Select the Trading.com MT5 and click to uninstall
Windows 8
- Step 1: Right-click on the screen's bottom-left corner and choose the ‘Control Panel’ from the pop-up menu
- Step 2: When the Control Panel appears, choose ‘Uninstall a Program’ from the ‘Programs’ category
- Step 3: Select ‘Trading.com MT5’ and click to uninstall
Windows 10
- Step 1: Right-click on the start menu and select ‘Apps and Features’
- Step 2: Find ‘Trading.com MT5’
- Step 3: Select it and then click ‘Uninstall’
Mac
- Step 1: Open your Applications folder
- Step 2: Move ‘Trading.com MT5 for Mac’ to Trash
How do I get my MT5 account validated?
If you’re already a customer, you can open an additional account via our webtrader or app, without having to re-submit any documents.
However, if you’re new to Trading.com, you’ll need to open an account first.
During the validation process, we may ask for supporting documents including a proof of identity (POI) and a proof of residence (POR).
Does the Trading.com MT5 platform support Expert Advisors (EAs)?
Yes, the desktop version of the Trading.com MT5 platform for PC and Mac users supports the use of EAs.
How do I add an EA to the chart on the Trading.com MT5 platform?
For PC
- Step 1: Select ‘File’ followed by ‘Open Data Folder’ from the platform menu
- Step 2: Navigate to ‘MQL5’, then ‘Experts’, and place your expert advisor into this folder
- Step 3: After restarting your platform, your EA should appear in the ‘Navigator’ window
- Step 4: Double-click on your EA or drag-and-drop it to add it to your preferred chart
For MAC
- Step 1: In the ‘Finder’ on your Mac, choose ‘Go’ and then ‘Go to Folder’
- Step 2: Copy and paste the following path, replacing 'my-user' with the username of your Mac
- /Users/my-user/Library/Application Support/MetaTrader 5/Bottles/metatrader5/drive_c/Program Files/MetaTrader 5
- Step 3: Navigate to ‘MQL5’, then ‘Experts’, and place your expert advisor into this folder
- Step 4: After restarting your platform, your EA should appear in the ‘Navigator’ window
- Step 5: Double-click on your EA or drag-and-drop it to add it to your preferred chart
What do I do if the EA I’ve added doesn’t trade?
First, check if ‘Allow real trading’ is selected by going to ‘Tools’, then ‘Options’, and selecting the ‘Experts’ tab.
Then, make sure the expert advisor button on the main tool bar is activated. You should be able to see a smiley face in the top right-hand corner of your chart which shows that you have activated your EA correctly.
If everything looks ok, but the EA still doesn’t trade, check your log files via the ‘Experts’ tab in the ‘Terminal’ window (you should be able to see what error occurs).
